TGIF Guys!

Today is my stop on The Simple Life Pattern Company Blog Tour. I’m one of the last stops, so if you haven’t been following from the start of the tour, be sure to check out the bloggers and their amazing makes, I can guarantee you’ll get some inspiration for your holiday sews. Also note, at the end of my blog post you’ll find the blogger tour links, a GIVEAWAY and pattern SALE info! 😉 – It’ll be like Christmas came early! lol

Harts Fabric was a gracious sponsor of the blog tour and I opted for this gorgeous Glimmer Organic Yarn Dyed Broadcloth Gold. What’s a holiday dress without some glimmer right?!

Unfortunately this color is no longer in stock, but you can find a lighter champagne color HERE with the same glimmer! Also in the color ICE and PEARL.

Truth be told, Holiday sews are one of my favorite kind of sews because its the perfect excuse to sew up something fancy. If you’ve been following my blog long enough, you know I’m a sucker for vintage styles, clean finishes and using invisible zippers over any other type of closure, and the PEARL Zipper Top and Dress fit the bill perfectly!

The Pearl Zipper Top and Dress is the perfect mix of elegance and sass. It features a gorgeous gem neckline, a lined bodice, gorgeous puff sleeves, sleeve shirring, and zipper closure. Choose from tank top style, short sleeves and long sleeves. You also have a few skirt options. Top or dress length and both lengths include a simple skirt or a ruffle skirt option.

For a little extra oomph, I added some gold trim I had in my stash around the bodice and the sleeves.

Before I show you the full body shots, let me just share that the following photos are from an entirely second photo shoot, just BECAUSE OF SHOES! lol

Yep, a whole new set of pictures happened because I found these adorable jelly shoes in the closet while I was taking out our fall gear. I had gotten them last year when I was planning a Belle Inspired outfit for our first Disney Dapper Day but we ended up doing a Moana theme instead. [You can find that post HERE]. I had taken the first set of photos before we left for Quilt Market, but I couldn’t pass up the fact that these had glitter in them and matched so perfectly! She was totally loving the whole outfit too, as you can tell from these hammy pictures lol!

Let’s talk about what I LOVE most about this pattern! THE BACK!! The neckline is beautiful, but the back is even more gorgeous! They had me at “zipper closure” …lol.

I really do love the sweet vintage look of the puff sleeves too…they compliment the neckline perfectly.

The only modification I added to this dress was adding side pockets are her request.
